ESPN national recruiting analyst Gerry Hamilton may be in a bit of hot water after making an incredibly embarrassing mistake Wednesday afternoon. Hamilton, attempting to tweet out a link with video highlights of four-star linebacker recruit Roquan Smith, instead included a link to a PornHub video. He quickly deleted the post and replaced it with the correct link, but the damage was already done – numerous users screenshotted the transgression and began circulating it.Hey @Kmarkobarstool That link is NOT Roquan Smiths highlight tape FYI pic.twitter.com/cyJBEDyxmB— ElOsoBlanco (@BSElOsoBlanco) January 21, 2015The only saving grace? The link didn’t include any kind of clue as to what the video actually contained. Still, Hamilton is bound to hear about this from those higher up.
If the Ole Miss Rebels are going to return to form in 2015, they’re going to need all of their star players to get healthy by September. Luckily, it looks like both wide receiver Laquon Treadwell and linebacker Denzel Nkemdiche are ahead of schedule in recovering from broken ankle injuries this past season. Treadwell posted a video of the duo doing sprints this past weekend. They both look to be moving pretty well, all things considered.Ole Miss made some serious noise in the SEC West this year before injuries eventually derailed their dreams of a historic season. Perhaps they’ll be a force to reckon with again in 2015.

Match Preview Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino says he would have been sacked by now had he prioritised the domestic cup competitions over the Premier League and Champions League. One of the few criticisms of Pochettino’s reign has been the failure to land a major trophy, despite leading the side to a trio of top-three Premier League finishes and regular Champions League participation during his four-and-a-half years in charge. However, the former Southampton boss is unrepentant about placing the domestic cups low on his priority list, suggesting his job would be on the line if Premier League progress had been hindered due to cup distractions.“If my ambition in Tottenham is only to win the Carabao Cup or FA Cup, with all the respect for that, I think my ambition does not match the ambition of a club like Tottenham,” he said.“I don’t know how we’ve finished in the last three seasons, but if we just won the FA Cup, I don’t know if chairman Daniel Levy would have much patience with me or would say: ‘OK, you’re 10th in the Premier League, I’ll keep you and give you a new contract.’ I don’t believe that.”Indeed, the Argentine questioned the difference that winning such a competition would make for his side.“Of course we want to win a trophy but that doesn’t mean it’s going to put Tottenham on a different level,” he argued. “What puts you in a different level is if you win the Premier League and you’re capable of challenging every season for the Premier League, and if you play Champions League and you really believe and you’re a real contender one day to win the Champions League. That’s my objective in Tottenham.”For Tranmere, the game marks a significant milestone in their revival after the low of relegation to the National League four years ago. They regained their Football League status via the play-offs last May and currently find themselves just three points outside the play-off places in League Two.It will also bring back memories of the team’s memorable cup runs during the early 2000s, when they reached the FA Cup quarter-finals three times in four years as well as the League Cup final in 2000.”It’s about the whole of the football club showing the whole football world that Tranmere is still here,” said Tranmere boss Micky Mellon.”We disappeared off the Football League radar for a while and when you have three years out of the league you can lose generations of fans. You can stop being a big football club. But we have seen in the last few years with trips to Wembley, occasions like this and the promotion battles that Tranmere is still here. It still has a fan base that, when called upon, can sell out in three hours.“It has unbelievable potential and it is up to us as a football business to make sure that we keep the momentum going forward. Friday night will help that.”
Eden Hazard needs to decide if he wants to stay at Chelsea and make his intentions to the club clear, according to former Blues midfielder Michael Ballack.Hazard has made no secret of his interest in playing for Real Madrid and, with his contract having only 18 months to run, Chelsea could be forced into a sale this year if they are unable to extend his deal. However, speaking to France Football this week, the Belgium star claimed there are conditions that could see him commit his future to Stamford Bridge, even though he admitted he would still consider any Madrid approach. Article continues below Editors’ Picks ‘There is no creativity’ – Can Solskjaer get Man Utd scoring freely again? ‘Everyone legged it on to the pitch!’ – How Foden went from Man City superfan to future superstar Emery out of jail – for now – as brilliant Pepe papers over Arsenal’s cracks What is Manchester United’s ownership situation and how would Kevin Glazer’s sale of shares affect the club? Ballack, who won two FA Cups, the Premier League and the EFL Cup in a four-year spell with Chelsea, believes Hazard would be in a strong bargaining position if he tells the club of his true ambitions and has urged him to make up his mind.”Eden Hazard has to decide if he wants to stay or not,” he told Omnisport . “He’s not only an outstanding player at Chelsea but also in the Premier League. Now, he has to decide if he wants to play at an ultimate, top club. That’s what he’s already communicated from time to time.“In my opinion, he is a little bit too calm, especially at Chelsea. There, he should be more demanding and expressing of his wishes. He can do that because he is in an outstanding position. If he wants to win more titles with Chelsea, something has to happen, otherwise Eden Hazard will think about looking for another opportunity.”Chelsea host Tottenham on Thursday in the EFL Cup semi-final, looking to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg.The game comes after a 2-0 loss to Arsenal left them 13 points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool and only three above the Gunners and Manchester United in fifth and sixth respectively.Ballack admires head coach Maurizio Sarri’s attempts to implement a more attacking style of play, but he is concerned the squad lacks the quality to match Liverpool and champions Manchester City.”Maurizio Sarri is also from Italy, like former coach Antonio Conte. As we know, Italians focus on discipline and an organised style of play but at the beginning I had the feeling that they want to play a little bit more offensive and creative,” he said.”He is a very relaxed guy who started well, although Chelsea lost some important and easy games now. In the Premier League, that’s dangerous because you lose sight of teams like Liverpool and Manchester City who have a big and well-balanced squad. Then you suddenly suffer a 10-point deficit, which is difficult to cut.”I don’t see any players in the team who really want to attack the top of the table. For the manager, it’s difficult to add quality to the squad. As I said, the squad is good but not good enough for the top.”
Lionel Messi’s Copa America campaign finished just over 45 minutes early on Saturday after the Argentina captain was sent off along with Chile’s Gary Medel in the third-place play-off.Messi and Argentina came flying out of the blocks in Arena Corinthians, after tasting elimination in controversial circumstances at the hands of Brazil on Tuesday. After just 12 minutes the Albiceleste went ahead, Sergio Aguero converting past Gabriel Arias in the Chile net after latching on to a brilliant quickly taken free-kick from the Barcelona wizard. Article continues below Editors’ Picks ‘Everyone legged it on to the pitch!’ – How Foden went from Man City superfan to future superstar Emery out of jail – for now – as brilliant Pepe papers over Arsenal’s cracks What is Manchester United’s ownership situation and how would Kevin Glazer’s sale of shares affect the club? Ox-rated! Dream night in Genk for Liverpool ace after injury nightmare Injury to Alexis Sanchez and a goal for Paulo Dybala compounded the Roja’s woes, finding themselves 2-0 behind after barely 20 minutes. But both teams were soon to be reduced to 10 men as tensions in Sao Paulo boiled over. A seemingly innocuous scuffle between Messi and notoriously bad-tempered Chile hardman ‘Pitbull’ Medel quickly escalated into a full-on brawl towards the end of the first half. And while Leo certainly helped provoke his opponent by pushing and harrying him past his own goal-line, the Argentina captain was largely motionless when Medel came back throwing his shoulders and forehead repeatedly into his adversary’s person. Referee Mario Diaz, however, deemed both parties equally responsible for the clash, lifting his red card twice and sparking more protests that involved almost every player on the pitch. There was momentary doubt over whether Messi’s punishment would be downgraded to a yellow upon review by VAR; the decision stood, however, and the captain let slip a wry laugh as he vacated the pitch.Messi’s expulsion will only further heighten Argentine suspicions that they have been given a raw deal by officials at this Copa America. In the Brazil clash the Albiceleste were left incensed after referee Roddy Zambrano declined to consult with VAR over two strong penalty appeals, one of which led directly to Roberto Firmino’s goal to put the hosts 2-0 up. The Argentine FA subsequently filed an official complaint over the standard of refereeing, while coach Lionel Scaloni complained his team had played against “eight men in black” as well as the Brazil team and partisan home crowd.

ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit doesn’t always reveal his predictions for the weekend’s biggest college football games. He’s usually calling the games for ABC and wants to avoid any favoritism before the contest kicks off. That’s not the case this weekend, however. Saturday’s biggest college football game between the Michigan Wolverines and Michigan State Spartans is broadcast on FOX.That means Herbstreit is able to give out his prediction. So, who is Herbie rolling with? He likes the Wolverines.“They’re starting to peak at the right time,” Herbstreit said on this week’s podcast. “A lot of people watched their game a week ago. I had their game against Wisconsin. Jim Harbaugh, I think, finally has a quarterback. That’s the reality. People want to critique Jim. I’ll defend him and say, in fairness to him, their quarterback position has really hurt them with turnovers. Now he’s got a quarterback in Shea Patterson to compliment the physicality in the run game and you throw in (defensive coordinator) Don Brown and that defense. Man, this is a different-feeling Michigan team than what we’ve seen in years past.”Michigan enters the contest as a touchdown favorite, though Michigan State has a history of making this game interesting. The Spartans have won four of the last five games and eight of the last ten.The last game to be played in East Lansing was won by the Wolverines.Michigan and Michigan State kick off at noon ET on Saturday.

IPL returns to Chennai, Super Kings ready to resume love affair with ChepaukChennai Super Kings are gearing up to play only their second match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in nearly four years. The MS Dhoni-led side will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opening match of Indian Premier League 2019 at Chepauk on Saturdayadvertisement Akshay Ramesh ChennaiMarch 23, 2019UPDATED: March 23, 2019 14:55 IST Cricket fans in Chennai are gearing up to Chennai Super Kings’ home game against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday (Twitter Photo)The whistles are set to be back as a carnival-like atmosphere is expected in Chennai on Saturday. Indian Premier League (IPL) returns to the cricket-loving coastal city and Chennai Super Kings fans showed signs of what is to come when they filled the stands at MA Chidambaram Stadium during a training session of the home team on Sunday, leaving the cricket fraternity in awe.The buildup to the much-anticipated return of CSK to their fortress has been grand, to say the least. Thousands of fans forwent a night’s sleep and queued up in numbers to get their tickets for the IPL 2019 opener — a big-ticket clash between CSK and Royal Challengers Bangalore. It’s hard to believe that the MA Chidambaram Stadium, also known as Chepauk, hosted only one IPL match in the last four years. It’s even harder to describe what the fans had to go through when CSK were suspended over corruption for two years between 2016 and 2017.The iconic narrow lanes in Chepauk, including the Victoria Hostel Road, hadn’t hosted a sea of yellow during match days and ticket sales over the last three years. The roadside vendors, selling jerseys, and the ones who are ever-ready to paint your faces yellow outside the MA Chidambaram Stadium were deprived of seasonal income. As I’m suffering from #Yellove! #WhistlePodu #CSKvRCB ???? pic.twitter.com/N3Q2lHi3jPChennai Super Kings (@ChennaiIPL) March 23, 2019The #Yellove on the faces of all the kids out there defines #Thala and the #AnbuDen! #WhistlePodu ???? pic.twitter.com/u1ZLwk9lSRadvertisementChennai Super Kings (@ChennaiIPL) March 22, 2019Nonetheless, CSK’s loyal fans made sure the buzz around the franchise was kept alive even during their absence. In fact, CSK’s official fan club — Chennai Super Kings Fan Club — was formed in 2016. The fan club, also known as Whistle Podu Army on social media, grew in numbers before CSK returned in 2018.CSK’s homecoming in IPL 2018 though ended in heartbreak as Dhoni’s men were forced to shift their home games out of Chennai due to protests over long-standing Cauvery water issue. Only one match — CSK’s five-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders — was played in Chennai before Dhoni’s men found home in Pune. There was a similar buzz around CSK’s return to Chennai last year. Fans had turned up in huge numbers to watch a practice session last year as well. In fact, Dhoni and his men had taken an open bus journey from the team hotel to the stadium and thousands lined up along the streets to greet their superstars. Not just all roads, but even the tracks lead to #Chepauk to fill the stadium #YelloveAgain. #WhistlePodu @ChennaiIPL #CSKvRCB #DhoniVsKohli pic.twitter.com/jWyEaCMVYRWhistle Podu Army ® – CSK Fan Club (@CSKFansOfficial) March 23, 2019After waiting two years for the team’s return, CSK fans were left distraught but that didn’t stop them from travelling to Pune in specially-arranged trains to support their team at its new home. One of the most-recognised cricket fans in the country, Super Fan Saravanan Hari was more relieved than happy when he got to know CSK will be playing their full-quota of home matches in Chennai in IPL 2019.Hari, who couldn’t wait to paint himself yellow and cheer for MS Dhoni in Chepauk on Saturday, said CSK fans are gearing up for a “family reunion”.”For me, it’s like a reunion of family members after almost a year. For three years, we haven’t been able to witness this at home. Very happy that matches are being played at home. We just want to create a carnival-like atmosphere,” Hari told indiatoday.in.It’s not surprising that most of the CSK players also felt the disappointment of not playing at home over the last three years. They managed to adapt to Pune and find quick success at their new base last year. But nothing comes close to playing at home in front of their fans and the whistles. It’s easy for away teams to get overawed by the love affair between CSK and their fans.
