first_imgBritish rock heavyweights The Who have announced that they’ll be playing two shows at the Royal Albert Hall in London, and they’ll be performing a full, acoustic version of their incredible groundbreaking rock opera “Tommy.” The band will play two sets each night, opening both shows with ‘Tommy’ and closing with a set of greatest hits material. These shows are in celebration of Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey‘s charitable organization, Teenage Cancer Trust, which raises money to help younger people who have cancer. The Teenage Cancer Trust will be celebrating it’s 100th shows during this event, making the occasion doubly worth celebrating. The two shows will take place Thursday, March 30 and Saturday, April 1, 2017.The Who have also announced a few U.K. tour dates along with these special shows. These additional shows–in Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow, Sheffield, and Birmingham–are make-up dates for last year’s cancelled tour, and lucky fans will now get to experience parts of the the acoustic “Tommy” set as a reward for their patience.See below for tour dates:[H/T JamBase]last_img
