After smoking shows in Pennsylvania on Thursday and Vermont on Friday, the band was dialed in for last night’s performance in Northampton, MA.The first set kicked off with “Defrost,” which dropped directly into “Punchline.” “Prestige Worldwide,” a fairly new tune that was debuted this December at The Capitol Theater followed this set opener. To close at the first set, the band moved through “Four” into “Seat of My Pants” with a massive and masterful transition, before finishing off the set with “McBain.” While the band could have kept going and were tuned in with beautiful segues for the end of this set, Rob Derhak ultimately pointed to his watch at the end of “McBain,” and the band left for set break following this song. The second set was fiery and a nonstop assault from moe. The first half contained a massive “Pit” sandwich, with the band opening with “The Pit,” then moving into “Deep This Time,” and back into the “The Pit.” Keeping going on with this theme, moe. immediately dropped into “Recreational Chemistry” before finishing off the five-song “Pit” sandwich with the third and final “The Pit” of the evening. With another skillful transition, the band hit “Tubing The River Styx” before “Assfinger” and closing out with “Brent Black,” during which Vinnie Amico and Jim Loughlin shared Jim’s set up for a portion of the second set’s closing number. As a send-off for the evening, the band opened the encore with “Letter Home” before ending the performance and this leg of their winter tour with “New York City.”You can watch videos of “Seat Of My Pants” > “McBain” (in two parts) below via the band’s Facebook page, as well as fan-shot clip of “Prestige Worldwide” via YouTube user the ruff:“Seat of My Pants” > “McBain” “Prestige Worldwide”[Video courtesy of youtube user, the ruff]Setlist: moe. | Calvin Theatre | Northampton, MA | 4/2/2017 [courtesy of Marc O’Shea]Set 1: Defrost > Punchline, Prestige Worldwide, Four > Seat of My Pants > McBainSet 2: The Pit > Deep This Time > The Pit > Recreational Chemistry > The Pit > Tubing the River Styx > Ass Finger > Brent BlackEncore: Letter Home, NYCThe band will pick back up on February 17th at Nashville’s Marathon Music Works to kick off a southern run.
