He had a double and scored a run in a loss at Texas A&M on Tuesday, then had a hit in Thursday’s opener, flying out to the warning track twice. Fregia erupted for a 5-for-5 day that included a pair of two-run homers in Friday’s win, scoring six times and tying the single-game program record for runs scored that has stood since 1986. He homered in his first at-bat in Saturday’s win, finishing just a triple shy of the cycle. This is Ernestine’s second weekly pitcher honor after earning the award on March 26. Pitcher of the Week: Alex Ernestine, Nicholls – Sr. – SP – Coconut Creek, Fla.Ernestine twirled a gem for the Colonels in game two against Central Arkansas on Friday, recording a career-high 10 strikeouts in a complete-game shutout. The senior lefty scattered five hits, none of which went for extra bases, helping the Colonels hold the Bears scoreless in the final 24 innings and 25 of 27 innings in the series.
