first_imgSinn Féin Spokesperson on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Peadar Toibin, TD will be in Donegal this Monday 19th November for a series of meetings across the county.Deputy Toibin is to hear at first hand the challenges local businesses and the unemployed face and to discuss Sinn Féin’s recently-launched Jobs Plan.He will also witness at first hand some positive examples of enterprise and innovation in the county that gives hope in these difficult times. Speaking ahead of the visit, Deputy Toibin said “In the last four years Ireland has shed more jobs than any other western state per capita since the Great Depression”.“Sinn Féin has identified €13billion which can be used to create jobs, increase productivity and improve competiveness. This money would be sourced from the European Investment Bank, incentivised investment from the private pension sector and the National Pension Reserve Fund.“Investment on this scale would retain 15,000 jobs and create about 156,000 jobs.“In Donegal we would create jobs by proceeding with the A5 Dublin-Derry dual carriageway which would greatly improve the Northwest’s appeal to foreign investors. We would also invest in new schools and primary care centres. “Donegal would also benefit from a new emphasis on agri-food and seafood sectors as well as sustainable tourism.“As an opposition party we will be pushing the government to adopt these proposals to reverse the spiraling unemployment and emigration that has plagued this county for years.”SINN FEIN SPOKESMAN ON JOBS, ENTERPRISE AND INNOVATION TO VISIT DONEGAL was last modified: November 16th, 2012 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:Donegal visitPeadar ToibinSinn Feinlast_img
